In principle, the Djembe (African drum) has three tones. During the first phase of this workshop students will be taught to produce the tones correctly. Once this has been mastered, different rhythms can be learnt. Other instruments will then be added and complex beats and sounds formed.
Student will be supplied with Djembes and other instruments. This will include Shakers – this instrument is shaken and principally used as a rhythm instrument.
Your Asian Drumming Workshop is also known as a Tabla workshop. Which provides an exhilarating learning experience that will help your pupils appreciate Indian culture while experiencing traditional Asian drumming rhythms and percussion-based music. Pupils will benefit from expert instruction and fully participate in a rousing and collaborative group experience.
Workshops can be half day or full day and held as one-off events or regularly throughout the term.
